What district do I live in?

How do I get a fire report for insurance purposes?
Call 248-6040 if you live in Unincorporated Bay County and request one, or let your insurance company make the request. It is not required for you to leave your name and number, however if it makes it more convenient for you, we will call you when the report is ready.
Where do I get a burn permit? Do I even need one?
If you aren’t sure about yard debris or land clearing, it is best to call your local Forestry Office. If you need a permit, they will supply you with one.

Can I burn anything I want in my yard?
It is illegal to burn household garbage including paper products, treated lumber, plastics, rubber materials, tires, pesticide, paint and aerosol containers.

What about fireworks?
Only Florida approved fireworks are allowed, we encourage people to leave fireworks for professional displays.
How can I become a volunteer firefighter?
Applications are available on our website. Applications may be submitted online or on the HR kiosk located in the lobby of Human Resources. The HR kiosk is available for use during normal business hours Monday-Friday from 7:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Library computers are also available for use.
You may apply online at http://co.bay.fl.us/hr.php by choosing “External Job Openings”. Click on “Volunteer Firefighter” position and click on the "Apply" link. If this is the first time you are applying using our online job application, you will need to create an account and select a Username and Password. After your account has been established, you can build an application by clicking on the "Build Job Application" link.
As part of the application process, the Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) presentation and quiz must be completed before the online application will move to the next step of reviewing. Click here to view or download presentation.
